Summertime Sports & Games...

Gardening For Kids...
Gardening is a summertime hobby of mine. I found this really neat video that walks you step by step in how to make your very own garden! You can use units of measurement that we have learned about in class to help you along the way!
Dreambox
Our schools recently purchased Dreambox to use as a supplement in our classrooms. It has been a valuable asset because provides students with material that is based on their current level of instruction. This allows for differentiation with minimal effort from the teacher. I use it as tool for students who complete assignments early and for those that need more of a challenge than our current content. Dreambox allows the teacher to print reports that show level, usage, and lessons completed. I use these reports to provide rewards and incentives to students who make Dreambox a weekly habit in their curriculum diet.

Dreambox
Dreambox is a math program our school has purchased for students to access at home and in the classroom. This site allows students to work on skills that are based on their own personal level. Please plan to complete 45 minutes per week on Dreambox during this school year. There will be celebrations each nine weeks for the students who have completed this task.
IXL Learning
This is a website where fifth grade students can visit to work on various math skills that are aligned with the Common Core Standards.
